Salty Water is owned by three brothers; partly literally, partly spiritually.
Wayan and Kadek are brothers by birth who grew up around perfect waves. They have been surfing since they were kids and now they are professional surfers with sponsors. When they are not competing in surfing contests they are teaching people how to surf.
When Jan went to Bali, the three of them met through surfing. Jan was taking 6 months off from his busy work life in Germany and spending time relaxing and surfing. As the three started to catch the waves together they became both friends and brothers in spirit. Soon after this, they decided to take it a step further and became business partners.
The trio started to teach surfing to beginners, sharing both their technique, know-how and passion with anyone and everyone wanting to learn to surf or take their skills to the next level.
Working together, they combined the practice of advanced professional surfing with business know-how to found Salty Water. This is not just a business, it is a brand.

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT
Salty Water teaches surfing using a combination of tried and tested methods which ensure that every surfer achieves the best possible progress. Whatever their level, every surfer will receive a program that is individually tailored to his or her own needs.
Wayan and Kadek live close to Padang Padang beach and Jan tries to spend as much time as possible there. It‘s not just paradise with the best waves to surf, it’s a local community that they are part of and that they love. This is the sort of community that is based on mutual respect and that is what makes the place work.
Salty Water supports this community both financially and by making sure that their own area and the whole of Padang Padang Beach is kept clean and beautiful so that it will always be paradise! We also create activities and charity events in the context of surfing to add value to the community in many ways.
